THE PARK AT WEST LAKE
The Park at West Lake Homes for Sale are within one of the most popular communities in south Cary! It is a neighborhood that usually becomes the best fit for what buyers are looking for, and cannot find in other parts of Cary & Apex. The main reason behind this is that the neighborhood is divided into different sections that offer an array of quality, home choices!
The Park at West Lake was started in 2005 and is at its final stages on the back side with Lennar Homes. The left side of West Lake Road was built by Drees Homes, a national builder who offered a variety of spacious, floor plans in the Park at West Lake to choose from. These moved quickly due to satisfying a need for large, new homes that buyers had been looking for. At the same time, the other side of West Lake Road was being developed by a group of local, custom builders. Most of those custom builders still provide a quality product around the Triangle today. You will see a distinct difference between each section of the community.
Both sides of the Park at West Lake do have their own pool facility, and there are sidewalks throughout the community! The main difference is that you’ll find more upgrades on the custom side, but usually not as much square footage. The other attribute you’ll notice is that Drees side of the neighborhood was developed on more slopped topography, so many of the homes do not have level lots. They did take that opportunity with some of the lots to build basement homes. Prices on both sides run from the mid $200’s up to $500,000. L&L of Raleigh built a collection of custom one-story ranch plans that are loaded with nice features, and many even have a screened porch! This section is known as “The Commons,” and sits on three streets within the Park at West Lake, Greymoss, Dayton Ridge & Bedford Ridge.
The only challenge here is finding privacy behind the home due to backing to another home site. Lennar Homes is finishing the back side of The Park at West Lake, mostly on Maplechase & Moneta Lane, with an array of floor plans on smaller lots in the low to mid $200’s. The one negative factor to be very aware of in the Park at West Lake is the section of Capulin Crest Drive where homes back to the Water Sewer Treatment Plant. I have never heard anyone complain of odor, but it is a large commercial structure that will tend to affect resale if your home backs to it! Outside of an amazing selection of homes, the Park at West Lake is located close to the top schools where it is an easy wlk to any grade level!
